Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege is a thrilling first-person shooter video game developed and published by Ubisoft. The game follows an international counter-terrorist unit called “Rainbow” as they undertake various missions, including battling a former rogue agent turned antagonist known as Deimos. In this article, we will explore Deimos’ story arc, his motivations and how he ultimately contributed to the war between Rainbow and Nighthaven. Did you realize that the Greek god of fear and terror shares a name with “Deimos”? Greek mythology’s Deimos is known as the individual deity of fear and terror in history. He was Phobos’ sibling and the child of Ares and Aphrodite. Deimos served as a metaphor for the fear and horror experienced by people prior to battle, while Phobos personified the panic and fear experienced during combat.

But to be honest, besides what the rogue agent Deimos did, not much is known about him. About why he did what he did, was he cast aside aiming for revenge, was he bored with how things were going or was peace making him so weary that he wanted to break that invisible line called peace to start an uprising which would make things less boring and what a better way to make Rainbow as your opponent to spice things up? We can speculate about a lot of things, but we don’t really know what his major game plan is or why he decided to execute it now, after all this time.

Deimos is no slouch, and since he was a former Rainbow operative, he must also be familiar with the organization’s inner workings. As a result, I’m sure he has some backup plans in case something stands in his way, but regardless, I’m impressed with the strategy Rainbow Six Siege is employing.
